BioAscent, a leader in compound management, has successfully partnered with a growing UK biotech to enable the pooling of their custom in-house compound collection, and subsequent production of assay-ready plates for screening by mass spectrometry.

By leveraging BioAscent’s expertise and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the biotech has been able to move from screening a single compound per well to multiple compounds per well, improving assay throughput and efficiency. Experts at BioAscent leveraged in-house knowledge in data management and automation to design several delivery plate formats for different assay types, all produced from the same library collection.  The use of traditional liquid handling techniques for initial compound pooling, followed by acoustic dispensing for final plate creation, ensured optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

Additionally, BioAscent was able to create and store microtubes containing small volumes of pure compound from the original source plates for cherry-picking and fast follow-up of individual hits without the need to request a resupply of compound. 

By collaborating with BioAscent, the biotech benefitted from our facilities and expertise in compound management to efficiently pool a large compound collection, significantly accelerating their assay throughput.
